Sharp Enhances “Print Hold” Feature with Touchless Job Release on Select A3 and A4 Workgroup MFPs

Available Firmware update enables users to release their Print Hold jobs by simply swiping their ID card

With that in mind, Sharp has enhanced the Print Hold feature on select A3 and A4 workgroup models, enabling users to release their jobs automatically by simply swiping their ID card when authentication is used. With this workflow, users do not need to physically touch the MFP, allowing for a true contactless experience. Compliance with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) regulations in the workplace are made simple with this update.

This feature is available through a special firmware update that eliminates the confirmation dialog message that prompts users to release their jobs after login. As a result, jobs print automatically. To enable this feature, the “Automatically Print Stored Jobs After Logon” checkbox must be selected in the system settings.
